SUMMARY:Towards an integrated optical interface for ion trap arrays
CLASS:PUBLIC
DESCRIPTION:MATTHEW DAY\, UNIVERSITY OF BRISTOL AND NATIONAL PHYSICAL LABOR
ATORY\,\nUK\n\nTrapped ions are one of the most mature platforms for quant
 um\ninformation processing\, quantum-enhanced sensing\, and precision\nspe
ctroscopy. Scaling to large numbers of trapped ions remains an\nopen\, tec
hnological challenge that would help advance the\nfunctionality and useful
ness of the platform. The production of ion\nmicrotrap arrays\, fabricated
using MEMS techniques\, has provided a key\ncomponent to this scaling cha
 llenge.
