 es dedicated to developing advanced\ntechnologies. Here\, I will explain t
 he ongoing work in quantum\ninformation science using trapped ions. In par
 ticular\, I will describe\nrequirements of surface ion traps fabricated at
  Sandia’s MESA\nfacility. Additionally\, I will discuss results obtained
  using these\ntraps relevant to building a quantum information platform\, 
 including\nion shuttling\, electric field control\, and high-fidelity quan
 tum\noperations.
