DESCRIPTION:CRAFTING HIGH-DIMENSIONAL TOOLS FOR PHOTONIC QUANTUM NETWORKS W
ITH\nTAILORED NONLINEAR OPTICS\n\nJOHN DONOHUE\, INSTITUTE FOR QUANTUM COM
PUTING\n\nThe time-frequency degree of freedom of light offers an intrinsi
cally\nhigh-dimensional encoding space which is naturally compatible with\
nwaveguide devices and fiber infrastructure. However\, coherent\nmanipulat
ion and measurement the information-carrying modes presents a\nchallenge d
ue to the sub-picosecond timescales inherent to\ndownconversion-based phot
on sources. In this talk\, I will discuss\nmethods based on ultrafast puls
e shaping and sum-frequency generation\nto address these temporal modes.
