 ntum information is a central challenge in building a\nquantum computer. Q
 uantum error-correcting codes can correct for\nlogical errors that occur i
 n the system. A particularly well-studied\ncategory is stabilizer codes\, 
 such as the 9-qubit Shor code\, as these\nare the quantum analogue of clas
 sical additive codes. Qudits\n(particles with local-dimension greater than
  2) have more\ncomputational basis states per particle than qubits and ret
 ain this\nfeature in stabilizer codes.
