SUMMARY:Coherent Parallelization of Universal Classical Computation
CLASS:PUBLIC
DESCRIPTION:Previously\, higher-order Hamiltonians (HoH) had been shown to
offer an\nadvantage in both metrology and quantum energy storage. In this
work\,\nwe axiomatize a model of computation that allows us to consider su
ch\nHamiltonians for the purposes of computation. From this axiomatic\nmod
el\, we formally prove that an HoH-based algorithm can gain up to a\nquadr
atic speed-up (in the size of the input) over classical\nsequential algori
thms—for any possible classical computation. We\nshow how our axiomatic
model is grounded in the same physics as that\nused in HoH-based quantum a
dvantage for metrology and battery\ncharging. Thus we argue that any advan
ce in implementing HoH-based\nquantum advantage in those scenarios can be
 co-opted for the purpose\nof speeding up computation. \n\nQNC 1201\n
