SUMMARY:The SuperCDMS experiment at SNOLAB
CLASS:PUBLIC
DESCRIPTION:SEMINAR PRESENTATION BY RICHARD GERMOND\, QUEEN'S UNIVERSITY\n\
nA number of astrophysical and cosmological observations suggest that\nrou
ghly 85% of the matter in the Universe is composed of dark matter\,\npresu
med to be a particle outside the standard model of particle\nphysics. Dire
ct detection experiments look for signatures of a dark\nmatter particle sc
attering with a sensitive detector\; of the different\ntechnologies used f
 or this\, cryogenic detectors are well-suited for\ndetecting low-mass dark
matter due to their low energy thresholds.
