SUMMARY:Millimeter-Wave Optomechanical Circuits for Preparing Non-Gaussian\
 nStates of Motion
CLASS:PUBLIC
DESCRIPTION:IQC SPECIAL SEMINAR - BRADLEY HAUER\, NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF STA
NDARDS\nAND TECHNOLOGY\n\nIn the current paradigm of quantum cavity optome
chanics\, the\nrelatively weak parametric coupling between an electromagne
tic cavity\nand a mechanical resonator is mediated by an external pump. Wh
ile this\nstrong cavity drive acts to enhance the optomechanical interacti
 on\, it\nobscures its intrinsic nonlinearity\, restricting these systems t
o\nbilinear operations on Gaussian states. By increasing this coupling\nsu
ch that it dominates the decoherence rates of the system\, one could\ninst
ead use the fundamental optomechanical nonlinearity to prepare the\nmechan
ical resonator into complex\, non-Gaussian states...
