SUMMARY:Exploring new frontiers with superconducting qubit circuits: expand
ing\nthe Hilbert space beyond qubits and pushing qubit-cavity coupling to\
 nthe deep strong regime
CLASS:PUBLIC
DESCRIPTION:IQC SEMINAR - SAHEL ASHHAB\, NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF INFORMATION
AND\nCOMMUNICATIONS\, JAPAN \n\nSuperconducting qubits are based on nonlin
ear electric circuits that\nsupport multiple quantum states. Although only
two states are used to\nrealize a qubit\, it is possible to utilize more
states and realize\nqudits (d-level quantum systems). We have proposed and
experimentally\ndemonstrated optimized implementations of qutrit gates. W
 e have also\ninvestigated the time-optimal implementation of two-qubit gat
 es in\nweakly anharmonic superconducting circuits.
