SUMMARY:Optimizing sparse fermionic Hamiltonians: guarantees and obstructio
 ns
CLASS:PUBLIC
DESCRIPTION:CS/MATH SEMINAR - YAROSLAV HERASYMENKO\, TU DELFT (WHITEBOARD\n
PRESENTATION)\n\nFermionic optimization is a quantum extension of constrai
nt\nsatisfaction that is a distinct alternative to the qubit Hamiltonian\n
problem. Extremal eigenvalues of fermionic Hamiltonians can sometimes\nbe
approximated via so-called Gaussian states\, which are classically\nsimula
ble. The accuracy of such an approximation depends on the\nstructure of th
e Hamiltonian. From the mathematical perspective\, this\ndependence is not
  very well understood.
