SUMMARY:Student Seminar Featuring Sam Winnick
CLASS:PUBLIC
DESCRIPTION:Quantum-Nano Centre\, 200 University Ave West\, Room QNC 1201 W
aterloo\,\nON CA N2L 3G1\n\nClifford gates are ubiquitous in quantum compu
ting. We consider the\nmultiqudit analog for arbitrary d>1\, which for exa
mple\, includes the\nqudit Fourier transform. In this talk\, we discuss th
e structure of the\nmultiqudit projective Clifford group and give a high-l
evel overview of\na Clifford-based functional programming language whose u
nderlying type\nsystem incorporates the resulting encoding scheme for proj
ective\nCliffords. This is joint work with Jennifer Paykin.
