 present the basics of quantum metrology and\nquantum sensing in noisy envi
 ronments. I will go over important\nresults of the field that show quantum
  error correction can be used to\nobtain optimal sensing protocols when ce
 rtain conditions on the noise\nare met.  I will then briefly discuss my c
 urrent research in\ngeneralizing these results to the non-Markovian case.
