 s make them not only the workhorse of\ntesting the foundations of quantum 
 physics against the classical\ninterpretation of nature\, but also suitabl
 e for various tasks in\nquantum information processing. In my talk\, I wil
 l first present our\nlong-distance quantum teleportation with active feed-
 forward in real\ntime. This experiment uses both quantum and classical opt
 ical links\nover 143 km free space between the two Canary Islands of La Pa
 lma and\nTenerife and is a major step towards quantum communication on a g
 lobal\nscale.
