SUMMARY:Hilke: Graphene growth and characterization for device applications
CLASS:PUBLIC
DESCRIPTION:MICHAEL HILKE\, MCGILL UNIVERSITY\n\nWe will review several pro
of of principle applications for graphene\nbased devices performed in our
group\, including in field sensors\,\nelectronics\, THz spectroscopy\, spi
ntronics\, nanofluidics\, and even\nmusical instruments. We will then disc
uss the synthesis mechanism of\ngraphene as well as the synthesis of very
large single layered\ngraphene monocrystals with various shapes\, ranging
 from hexagons to\nfractals\, dubbed graphlocons.
