SUMMARY:Stobinska: Quantum state engineering of multiphoton quantum\nsuperp
 ositions
CLASS:PUBLIC
DESCRIPTION:MAGDALENA STOBINSKA\, UNIVERSITY OF GDAŃSK/POLISH ACADEMY OF S
CIENCES\,\nWARSAW\n\nWe discuss a device capable of filtering out two-mode
states of light\nwith mode populations differing by more than a certain t
hreshold\,\nwhile not revealing which mode is more populated. It would all
ow\nengineering of macroscopic quantum states of light in a way which is\n
preserving specific superpositions. As a result\, it would enhance\noptica
l phase estimation with these states. We propose an optical\nscheme\, whic
 h is a relatively simple\, albeit non-ideal\, operational\nimplementation
 of such a filter.
