SUMMARY:David McKay: High contrast interactions and photonic qubits using\n
 multimode cavity QED
CLASS:PUBLIC
DESCRIPTION:DAVID MCKAY\, UNIVERSITY OF CHICAGO\n\nSuperconducting Josephso
n‐junction (JJ) qubits are an emerging\ntechnology for quantum informati
on processing. These qubits can be\nengineered with strong coupling to two
or three‐dimensional\nmicrowave cavities which implements the cavity qu
 antum electrodynamics\n(QED)  paradigm ‐ coherent coupling of a two‐l
evel system to a\nharmonic oscillator. Cavity QED enables high fidelity qu
 bit state\nreadout\, cavity‐mediated two‐qubit gates\, and storing qua
 ntum\ninformation in noise‐insensitive photonic states.
