Academic Writing Workshop #4

Elisabeth van Stam (UW Writing and Communication Centre)

Join us for our last session in the clarity in scientific writing series. During this session, we will apply the principles you have learned in order to improve the clarity and cohesion of your own writing. Please bring a sample of your writing (1-2 pages, double spaced), and be prepared to read, discuss, and revise! Near the end of the session, we each will share one revision (and the original sentence) with the entire group, with the goal of building an appendix of IQC specific clarity in scientific writing principles.

If you are interested in continuing the writing momentum developed during these workshops, consider joining the #WaterlooWrites program. Learn more about this program on the Writing and Communication Centre website, or contact the #WaterlooWrites coordinator Nadine Fladd (nfladd@uwaterloo.ca).

Note: Please bring your pen/paper and/or a computer for an active participation of the workshop.

If you are coming from the Lazaridis Centre, take the 11:35 am shuttle to RAC1 and return on the 1:15 pm shuttle.
