The Quantum Quest Seed Fund seeks applications from the broader university community to promote the development and application of new ideas in quantum devices. Funded through the Transformative Quantum Technologies (TQT) initiative, seed grants will be awarded to Waterloo researchers new to the quantum community and with opportunities to apply quantum properties in new or existing systems.
The University of Waterloo was awarded $76M toward the TQT initiative from the Canada First Research Excellence Fund last fall. TQT’s mission is to develop and deploy impactful quantum devices. The Quantum Quest Seed Fund provides an opportunity for the Waterloo research community to explore novel ideas for quantum devices in areas across science, engineering and mathematics.
Projects will be funded at up to $50,000 per year for two years. Applications are open until Wednesday, November 29th, 2017 at 5 pm EST. Successful applicants will be notified by March 1st, 2018.
