David Johnston Award for Scientific Outreach

The IQC David Johnston Award for Scientific Outreach was created to celebrate David Johnston’s pivotal contributions to scientific awareness, community engagement and his support of the Institute for Quantum Computing (IQC) at University of Waterloo. President of the University of Waterloo from 1999 to 2010, Johnston had a passion for leadership and was enthusiastic about continuous learning, innovation and achievement.

The award, valued at $2,500 annually, will be awarded to up to three IQC graduate students each year who are dedicated to promoting public awareness of quantum information research, general science and IQC in industry or the scientific and local communities.

A current CV must accompany this application.
