WIN Rising Star Award in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology

~ Call for Submissions ~

The Waterloo Institute for Nanotechnology (WIN) at the University of Waterloo is pleased to announce the call for submission for the WIN Rising Star Award in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology. The award recipient will receive $10,000 (CAD) as an honorarium at the International Symposium on the Frontiers of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology on June 4, 2019.

Eligibility:

A full-time faculty member who has received their PhD in science or engineering in 2009 or later. The 2019 nomination is open to individuals whose research interest alighns with WIN's research area - Smart & Functional Materials. Details about this thematic area are available here. Applicants cannot be currently employed by the University of Waterloo. 

Award:

Along with the honorarium for $10,000 (CAD), the award recipient will present a featured research seminar at the International Symposium. The award recipient will spend two days at WIN interacting with leading faculty members and graduate students.

Submission:

The submission package should contain the following: (a) one-page write-up about the impact of applicant’s research in the field of Smart & Functional Materials; (b) full curriculum vitae; (c) the names and contact details of three academic references.
