On Wednesday, June 4th, 2014, a state-of-the-art Molecular Beam Epitaxy (MBE) facility for the fabrication of compound semiconductor materials will be officially launched in the QNC. The system will combine the best features of a high-end research and development reactor with entry-level production capabilities. The facilities will enable University of Waterloo research programs ranging from photonics to nanoelectronics to quantum computing.
