With June’s in-person convocation celebration postponed, we know commencement was bittersweet for many of our new Environment alumni. The class of 2020 is invited to a live virtual Reunion/Convocation 2.0 on Saturday, September 26th from 2pm – 4pm EST.

The Nanotechnology Engineering program is celebrating their 15th anniversary, with ten years of graduating classes! This virtual event will include remarks from the Director of the Nanotechnology program, VIPs and a panel of Nanotechnology alumni who will speak about their careers, advice they may have for students and alumni, their experiences and any mentorship opportunities they offer. All alumni are welcome to join in on this event.

The Race will begin at 9AM on Friday September 25th and run until Sunday, September 27th to allow for alumni and students across the globe to compete!

Grab some basic watercolor paint supplies, your spouse and kids, and log in for a special virtual postdoc paint nite class, led by local artist Candice Leyland. Learn to paint a starry sky featuring the aurora borealis in watercolour. Great for a variety of skill levels including absolute beginners. You'll need a few supplies (most of which can be gathered from a dollar store or your local art store).

As a thank you for all of your hard work as a valued postdoctoral fellow, Graduate Studies and Postdoctoral Affairs is pleased to offer you the opportunity to pick up a free gift: a postdoc t-shirt from the Waterloo store. Supplies are limited and must be picked up in-person at the W Store Essentials pick up spot in the Student Life Centre between September 21 and October 2. We will keep some t-shirts aside for those unable to travel to campus during COVID-19 and will allow you to pick them up once the campus is fully operational. Unfortunately, we are unable to ship these items.
