Grab some basic watercolor paint supplies, your spouse and kids, and log in for a special virtual postdoc paint nite class, led by local artist Candice Leyland. Learn to paint a starry sky featuring the aurora borealis in watercolour. Great for a variety of skill levels including absolute beginners. You'll need a few supplies (most of which can be gathered from a dollar store or your local art store). Check out some samples from Candice's other beginner students to see what yours might turn out like! Supplies you'll need:

  • Any Watercolour Paints (As long as you have a red, yellow and blue and back that’s perfect). Student grade sets are fine as well.
  • If picking artist grade watercolour colour tubes: (Alizarin Crimson, Phalo Blue, Lemon Yellow, Paynes Grey).
  • Watercolour Paper
  • Painter's Tape or Washi Tape or bulldog clips to attach paper to board
  • Board to tape paper to (Old Box is fine)
  • Watercolour Brushes (a 6 or 8 works perfect, any shape)
  • White Opaque Acrylic Paint (From Dollarama) (FOR STARS ONLY - Can be Optional - A White Gel Pen, white out, white gouache will also work)
  • Water
  • Pencil (optional)
