Topic: What we’re up to in Networks
Dave will discuss some of the projects that network services has on their radar for 2018. Topics will include new software platforms, a distribution router upgrade, a VPN and campus firewall upgrade, a wireless core upgrade, and the campus switch refresh project.
Bio:
Dave graduated from the University of Ontario Institute of Technology in 2010 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology and Network Security. Later the same year, he started working for Network Services in IST. Over the past seven years, Dave has worked on many campus-wide initiatives as part of the network team. Most recently, he has taken a lead role in the campus switch refresh project.
In his spare time, Dave enjoys playing competitive slow-pitch. He is a member of two weekday teams, one tournament team, and is a volunteer coach for St. David’s High School team. Dave is also a cryptocurrency enthusiast, and has been involved in Bitcoin since 2011.
