Audience: Course authors and instructors
Duration: 45 minutes
N.B. This workshop is primarily intended for course authors/instructors who are transitioning to remote teaching for the spring 2020 term. This workshop will be delivered online via Microsoft Teams.
A screen recording or screencast is a narrated video recording of your computer screen. A screencast can comprise anything from still images (for example, slides containing text or photographs) to full motion (for example, the movement of your mouse cursor, drawing or writing on slide, video clips from lab demonstrations, and so on). Screencasts are an option to consider when transitioning to online lectures. CEL’s guide to screen recording describes a range of recommended approaches for screen recording. During this live session participants will be given a demonstration of full-featured screen recording with Camtasia. You can purchase Camtasia with education pricing from the Techsmith website. IST does not provide a site licence for Camtasia, as per the IST Licenced Software listing. This workshop will be delivered online via Microsoft Teams.
Since Camtasia is very similar on Windows and macOS we are offering just one session to cover both platforms.
A Q&A session will follow the demonstration.
Registration is required. CEL has a new registration system called GoSignMeUp. Before you can register for a workshop, you need to create an account (one time only). Once you've created an account, you can register for this workshop.
Many of our workshops have waiting lists, so if you've registered but can't attend, please cancel your registration well in advance through the registration system, so that someone else can fill your spot.
