Audience: Course authors and instructors
Duration: 45 minutes
N.B. This workshop is primarily intended for course authors/instructors who are transitioning to remote teaching for the spring 2020 term. This workshop will be delivered online via Microsoft Teams.
A screen recording or screencast is a narrated video recording of your computer screen or device. A screencast can comprise anything from still images (for example, slides containing text or photographs) to full motion (for example, the movement of your mouse cursor, drawing or writing on slide, video clips from lab demonstrations, and so on). Screencasts are an option to consider when transitioning to online lectures.
CEL’s guide to screen recording describes a range of recommended approaches for screen recording. During this live session participants will be given a demonstration of basic screen recording captured on iOS and macOS. We will also briefly discuss editing your captured video using QuickTime on macOS, and converting your files to a web-friendly format using Miro Video Converter..
A Q&A session will follow the demonstration.
Registration is required. CEL has a new registration system called GoSignMeUp. Before you can register for a workshop, you need to create an account (one time only). Once you've created an account, you can register for this workshop.
Many of our workshops have waiting lists, so if you've registered but can't attend, please cancel your registration well in advance through the registration system, so that someone else can fill your spot.
