New name for Department

We are pleased to announce that as of June 30, the Department of Kinesiology will be known as the Department of Kinesiology and Health Sciences. The name change reflects the department’s emphasis on preparing students for multiple health-related career paths, including the health professions beyond kinesiology.

New Investigator Award will allow Kinesiology neuroscientist to research Parkinson’s

Kaylena Ehgoetz Martens.

Professor Kaylena Ehgoetz Martens has received a New Investigator Award from Parkinson Canada, worth $90,000 over two years. The funding will support further study of how anxiety contributes to freezing of gait in order to develop technological solutions to predict freezing in advance.
