Career outcomes for graduate students

What happens after you graduate?

One year after our master's and doctoral students graduate, the Faculty of Health conducts a survey to find out where our alumni are employed. This is completed annually.

Examples of job titles

Respondents to our spring 2021 alumni survey let us know where they had landed just one year after graduating from the Department of Kinesiology and Health Sciences. Job titles included:

  • Design researcher
  • Senior medical officer
  • Performance coach
  • Manager of footwear innovation
  • Research assistant
  • Disability case manager
  • Strength and conditioning coach
  • Research reviewer

Being able to spend this time independently and surrounded with such creative and critical thinkers means that I could explore all of the paths that science in my field could take me

Alumni survey participant, spring 2018

The biomedical principles I learned have helped me understand medical information and recovery timelines - things I use in my job today.

Time management and being able to meet multiple deadlines were important skills I learned too.
