KI students take on the world
Two current KI students share their recent international experiences.
This past summer and fall, Bess Mitchell participated in a Students for Development internship in Ternopil, Ukraine working with children with disabilities at an orphanage and school. While there, she created a leadership program for students at a local university and helped them form relationships with the children in the hopes to broaden their perspectives on peoples with disabilities. She reflected on this experience in her blog, 'Letters from Ternopil'.
Since mid-July, Michael Goudreault has been on an academic exchange at the University of Western Australia in Perth, WA. While there, he took classes in Australian History and Archaeology and had the opportunity to excavate part of the first farm in the state - Old Farm Strawberry Hill in Albany, WA. He also visited cities and sites across the country with other exchange students from the UK, US, Germany, Denmark, Spain and Singapore.
