KI student interns in Ukraine

Bess Mitchell, 4th year Knowledge Integration student, is currently in the Ukraine as a Students For Development Intern funded through a multi-year grant awarded to St. Jerome's University by the AUCC and CIDA.

Visit her blog, 'Letters from Ternopil', which she is using as a medium to post her reflections on while she is in the Ukraine over the next 6 months.

Benjamin Carr, first-year KI student, is a winner of one of the most prestigious undergraduate scholarships in Canada: the Loran Award.

The Canadian Merit Scholarship Foundation grants Loran Awards to talented young Canadians on the basis of character, service and leadership potential. A Loran Award includes four years of funding for undergraduate studies and a comprehensive enrichment program.

A reception was held at Waterloo recently to honour our recipients of the Loran Awards.

Knowledge Integration students hosted the 2012 Combining Two Cultures Conference, an interdisciplinary student-led conference to improve interdisciplinary education through collaboration.

The conference was January 21-22, and the theme was "Failure: not final or fatal". The event was a great success, and KI will be the host for the 2013 conference as well.
