This full-day workshop, held at the Grand River Conservation Authority (GRCA), was intended to promote collaborations between stakeholders in the Great Lakes Region and researchers at the University of Waterloo, working on various aspects of protecting and improving water quality in streams, lakes and groundwater in the Great Lakes Region.

The first annual LEAP researcher meeting was held at the University of Coimbra in Coimbra, Portugal. The 2-day (June 12 -13) kick-off meeting brought together researchers the work package leads from the University of Coimbra, University of Waterloo, University of Copenhagen, and Stockholm University.

LEAP researchers will gather in Copenhagen for the third annual meeting from June 19^th through 21^st, 2019. The meeting provide researchers with an opportunity to meet in-person, present on their progress, and discuss the next steps in achieving the milestones of the project. Each year the meeting is held at one of the partnering institutions. This year, the University of Copenhagen will be hosting the LEAP meeting.
