Conference Proceeding Investigates Nitrogen in Lower Mondego

Recently, João Vieira and Maria Cunha co-authored a congress publication titled ‘Modified budget of net anthropogenic nitrogen inputs to large watersheds: application in Lower Mondego (Portugal)’ in Proceedings of the 11th World Congress on Water Resources and Environment (EWRA 2019).

A Race Against Time will be at AGU 2019

San Francisco

A special session on legacy effects of nutrients will be held at the Fall Meeting of the American Geophysical Union in San Francisco in December 2019. ‘A Race Against Time: Legacy Effects of Land Use on Water Quality, Watershed Processes and Ecosystem Function’ will showcase research examining how human activity has shaped patterns in sediments, nutrients, and contaminants in the landscape over time. This session focuses on how the effects of agriculture, resource extraction, and urbanization influence water quality, watershed processes and ecosystem function over decades to centuries.

LEAP members attended the University of Waterloo Research Spotlight at the Grand River Conservation Authority. This event provided an opportunity to share water research happening in the Grand River watershed with local water managers and decision makers.
