Democracy in the Classroom Provides No Social Change: Activism at Waterloo
Since the University of Waterloo was founded over 60 years ago, activism has been an important part of student culture. Whether it has been seeking better tuition and textbook prices, or joining the world in condemning Apartheid, students have always been involved in fighting for what is right.
A new exhibit from the Library’s Special Collections & Archives (SCA) highlights just a few of those movements from the 1960s to today as they were captured in student and University publications, and through photography. Join us in understanding how the movements of the past have shaped the University and society of today, and how the movements of today are shaping the future.
