Title Summary
The collection consists of 350 titles from the personal library of the philosopher and man of letters, George Santayana (1863-1952). Many of the books contain annotations in his own handwriting. The collection is supplemented by reference and critical materials related to the life and work of Santayana as well as editions of Santayana's own writings. The collection also includes Santayana's own copies of his autobiography, with his corrections and notes to his publisher.
Bernard Suits was a philosopher and professor who was an authority in the field of games and gaming. Suits joined the University of Waterloo in 1966, and he stayed until his 1994 retirement. The fonds includes materials that he created as a student, materials he created as a professor at the University of Waterloo, published and unpublished fiction and non-fiction works, correspondence, meeting minutes, and audio and visual recordings of Suits' lectures.
