4 cm of textual records.
In 1862 Andrew Bell Jardine, a native of Scotland, visited Hespeler, Ont. where he shortly thereafter moved his family and started a small foundry. This was the A.B. Jardine Co., one of the pioneer industries of the area.
Fonds consists of 18 items, dating from 1797 to 1927, relating to members of the Jardine family. The two pieces of correspondence and fourteen documents help to outline some of the family's history both in Scotland and in Hespeler, including marriage certificates, character references, articles of partnership, etc. The surname on documents of Scottish origin is spelled variously as "Jardin", "Jordan" or "Jardine".
