The fonds contains manuscripts, research notes, correspondence and reviews pertaining to each of Barbara Smucker's major works, as well as biographical and critical material, and covers Mrs. Smucker's seven major published books: Underground to Canada (1977), Days of Terror (1979), Amish Adventure (1983), White Mist (1985), Jacob's Little Giant (1987), Incredible Jumbo (1990) and Garth and the Mermaid (1992). A published version of an earlier work, Henry's Red Sea (first published 1955) is also available. The Library has attempted to acquire printed copies (in original and translation) of each edition of the seven major works.
