Name: Timothy Annan
Location: Toronto
Role: Survey design and administration, process optimizations
Responsibilities:
Timothy's major assignment of the term was to conduct time trial analysis for check-in kiosks used by a major Canadian airline. During this study, which spanned six weeks, Timothy had made close to 70,000 observations and thus calculated reliable estimates on important efficiency indicators, such as wait time, transaction time, and availability of assistance.

Name: Ahmer Rafiq

Responsibilities:
Ahmer re-designed a charter's booking application programmed in the 1980s in a disk operating system (DOS) based language. His new application can store, email and print booking forms, and is connected to various other internal applications, such as accounting software. During his co-op term, Almer also performed various systems and application check up duties on a daily basis to ensure business continuity.

Role: Engineering project management
Responsibilities:
Sam has estimated the construction cost for three major construction projects, including: New Jersey Turn Pike, Hartford Connecticut Train Stations and Rhodes Island Airport. In the planning stage of these projects, Sam would receive construction layouts and material requirements. He then used an industry pricing reference book and measuring instruments to estimate the quantity and pricing of various construction materials.

Location: Samutsakorn, Thailand
Role: Quality assurance, layout design
Responsibilities:
Light has carried out various daily, weekly and monthly quality assurance tasks for his employer, a major Thai textile manufacturer. From his quality assurance experience, Light thought greater efficiency can be achieved by re-arranging the placements of testing apparatus within the small laboratory based on human factor concepts. Light's employer was very receptive with the new laboratory layout design and has been gradually implementing Light's recommendations after his co-op term.

Name: E. Jordan Frost
Location: St. Catherine's
Role: Project engineering, quantitative analysis
Responsibilities:
Jordan's main project for his co-op term was to create a winter severity index to guide salt usage. Jordan represented winter severity as the inverse of bare pavement (road segments that are not covered with snow or ice). He then normalized this index with the total number of bare pavement days in a year, and tested its accuracy with three years of historical data. His index generates a three to five percent annual reduction in salt usage.

Name: Pranav Sampat
Location: Toronto
Role: Information technology
Responsibilities
Pranav had discovered that about 30% of problem reporting tickets contained mistakes in listing configuration details, which resulted in purchasing wrong computer components, and providing mismatched software patches internal clients. Pranav had taken the initiative to generate a list of selection criteria based on his communication with internal teams and external vendors. At the end of the work term, Pranav's employer had selected a new ticket inventory system based on Pranav's recommendation.

Name: Andrea Qin
Location: Bejing, China
Role: Production management
Responsibilities:
Andrea has conducted a three-month efficiency and productivity study of her employer's assembly lines. Her study has included 20 operations from 20 workstations across 15 product lines. The results of her study were used to assess the manufacturer's production capability with respect to expansion in Original Equipment Manufacture (OEM) products market.

Name: Amanda LeDuc
Location: Toronto
Role: Security infrastructure, health care, project management
Responsibilities:
Amanda was involved in more than 60 projects for hospital infrastructure improvement. Amanda was most active in the planning stages of these projects, which involved requirements gathering, price quoting and funding applications. The most notable project that Amanda involved in was a clinical renovation with the objective to bring in more clinical staffs and improve patient safety by designing a new floor layout and installing security cameras in sensitive areas such as the trauma floor.
