Norman Esch Management Engineer Winners

2014 introduced the first Norman Esch Entrepreneurship Awards for Capstone Design. Funded by the Esch Foundation, this competition is open to all Engineering students at the University of Waterloo. 

A panel of judges spent its time looking for outstanding capstone projects, reviewing business plans. Chosen finalists were expected to present their projects and answer questions presented by the large audience and the judges. Explaining the problem and how their project worked to solve the problem.

Management Sciences Management Engineering student teams who made it to the finals: 

MAJiK Systems (Kamal Aman, Jared Evans, Adam Singer, and Mike Tatham, supervised by Prof. Stan Dimitrov) The MAJiK team won one of the $10,000 prizes.

On-the-Go (Nasif Addnan, Nick Ghotbi, and Riley McLeod, supervised by Prof. Mark Hancock) The On the Go team took home another $10,000 prize.

SmartMatch (Eric Li, Darryl Lobo, Hamza Mahmood and Daniel Srabotnjak, supervised by Vanessa Bohns) Presented their program that helps Project Managers assemble effective teams to produce stronger results.
