Mr. Paul Dirksen
Paul Dirksen, a pioneer computer scientist at the University of Waterloo, passed away on April 8, 2023. He was 83. He is survived by his best friend and wife of 58 years, Sandra. It is with heavy hearts that we bid farewell to a true visionary and leader, Ronald (Ron) Garth Dunkley, longtime faculty member in the Faculty of Mathematics at the University of Waterloo, the founding director of the Centre for Education in Mathematics and Computing (CEMC), and the co-creator of the Canadian Mathematics Competition. With heavy hearts, the family of Nicholas Anthony Marischuk shares the sad news of his passing on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, in his 71st year. Nick was a loving and devoted husband of the late Karen Marischuk (nee Hollidge) for 45 happy years, cherished father of Steven (Whitney) Marischuk and Mathew (Alexandria) Marischuk, beloved son of the late Steve and Olga Marischuk, proud grandfather of Jackson, Riley, James and David, brother of Suzanne Grant, Wayne (Loretta), Mark (Louise), Dan (Chenh) Marischuk, and brother-in-law of Colin (Emily) Hollidge.
