Patching of the Windows print server mapprint01 last week
broke access for Linux and unsupported MacOS X computers.
A temporary workaround has been applied and all clients
should be able to print again.
All MFCF services have been moved from MFCFADS authentication to Nexus authentication, and the windows.math environment is available. The depts.math server is available; but, the files.math\depts server permissions rebuild will take a few hours longer. Please report any issues to email@example.com (x36323).
Active Directory (AD) is a central store for managing users, computers, and security groups. The Faculty of Mathematics has maintained its own AD called MFCFADS for many years. The campus AD is called Nexus and uses the same credentials as WatIAM thereby providing access to many campus systems with a single set of credentials. Faculty of Mathematics users have two sets of credentials for accessing systems, MFCFADS\UWUserID for research and administrative resources like printing and network shared drives, and Nexus\UWUserID (same as WatIAM) for teaching and campus resources. MFCF has been engaged in a transition to Nexus.
Users will notice some changes in their computing experience.
