Faculty of Mathematics scholarships

As a current full-time honours student in any plan in the Faculty of Mathematics (excluding Software Engineering; Computing and Financial Management), you may be eligible for a variety of upper year Faculty of Mathematics and University of Waterloo scholarships after each complete full (10 units) year of study.

Faculty of Mathematics Senate Scholarship (renewable)

Students who have completed one and two years of full-time study in an honours plan will be considered for a Faculty of Mathematics Senate Scholarship. Payment is $750 per term renewable after one year provided the recipient is registered in five courses per term and is maintaining an 80% average. There is no application. In the past, students needed to have at least a 90% average to receive a Faculty of Mathematics Senate Scholarship.

Faculty of Mathematics Upper Year Scholarship (one time payment)

Every October the Faculty of Mathematics selects top students who have completed years one, two, and three for upper year scholarships. Scholarships range from $100 to $5,000.

There is no application. Students will be notified via email or letter in December. Many of these awards are honoured at the Faculty of Math Awards Banquet held in January.
