It is often said that learning mathematics is not a spectator sport. Moreover, there is overwhelming evidence that active learning in the mathematics classroom improves students' performance.
In this session, I will briefly review some of the literature on active learning and discuss options and obstacles for inserting active learning into our classrooms.
