Despite our best intentions, research shows we all have it — unconscious, unintentional bias. Unconscious attitudes and beliefs are shaped by many influences some of which we would quickly reject at a conscious level.

Yet these unconscious thoughts influence decision-making and can have a profound impact in the workplace — on employee engagement, retention and productivity, on our relationships with colleagues and coworkers, and the trajectory of people’s careers. The key is to learn how to recognize your unconscious biases as well as to develop practical ways to interrupt them on an individual and organizational level. After attending this event, you will be able to better navigate hidden barriers caused by unconscious biases and create a personal plan for greater career success.

This virtual event is open to everyone in the University of Waterloo community.

During the event, a raffle will be held for an e-giftcard to a local business.

A link to join this virtual event will be emailed to registrants on the day of the event.
