Bayes Business School at City University of London

Why should I study here?

  • A cutting-edge business school located in London, home to Tech City, a technology cluster of high-tech companies.
  • The school is named for Thomas Bayes, a theologian and mathematician from the 17th century, and their final resting place is in Bunhill Fields across from the campus. Bayes theorem – that we get closer to the truth by constantly updating our beliefs in proportion to the weight of new evidence – aligns closely with the School’s core principles. The school was originally called the Cass Business School but was renamed as further investigation established ties between Sir John Cass and the slave trade.

What majors/plans would be a good fit for this school?

Students can take courses (known as modules) in Business, Finance & Management, and Actuarial Science at Bayes so this school would be a good fit for students in Actuarial Science, Business Administration, FARM and Statistics.

General information

Please review the Waterloo Passport page for this school.

Transfer credit information

A full-time course load at Bayes is 4 modules (courses). If you take and pass 4 modules at Bayes, then you will receive the course equivalency for each module and then your fifth credit will be MISC 2xx to account for the fact you can’t take 5 modules at Bayes. MISC 2xx can be used as a non-math course or elective. If you take less than 4 modules, then you will only receive the credit for the modules you take.
