Space management

Space reports

The Space Management Office is the official custodian of space records. These records include information such as:

  • Department of ownership
  • Room size
  • Room usage
  • Floor plans

The records are maintained using Archibus. Authorized users have access to Archibus reports which you can view, print, or export to Excel. The Dean's Office can provide userids and passwords. 

Space attributes

Ownership

The Dean's Office assigns ownership of rooms, working with the University Space Managemement Office.

Size

Plant Operations maintains room dimensions in the Archibus database. During construction and renovations, Plant Operations will make updates.

Usage

Various levels both inside and outside of the institution track and report on the usage of rooms. Each department/school must inform the Dean's Office of changes in room usage. We use two coding mechanisms: 

For consistency within the Faculty, we commonly use the codes in the following list. If a room has multiple purposes you can split the codes according to a percentage.
