ACM fellowship for S. Keshav

Srinivasan Keshav

Computer Science Professor Srinivasan Keshav is the University of Waterloo’s latest fellow of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM). The 2012 ACM fellows were chosen from leading universities and corporations all over the world. Their contributions to computing innovation are advancing technologies in the information age.

Big E and Special K contest results

The Big E and Special K contests (PDF) were held on Saturday, November 3, 2012. These are mathematics contests for undergraduate University of Waterloo students.

The Special K contest is for first year students and the Big E contest is for upper year students. Both contests consist of six problems, and complete written solutions are required.

Michele Mosca on TVO's The Agenda with Steve Paiken

Quantum computing and nanotechnology aim to map the next groundbreaking frontier in technological innovation. The University of Waterloo is launching a brand new, state of the art facility with the opening of the Mike & Ophelia Lazaridis Quantum-Nano Centre (QNC). Michele Mosca, deputy director of the Institute for Quantum Computing (IQC), joins Steve Paikin to talk about the enormous potential of bringing two giants of tiny research together in one facility.
