Why did you choose to study at Waterloo?

I chose to study at Waterloo due to its prestigious math program. Not only does it allow you to study in different academic disciplines, but in your upper years it allows you to specialize in any field that you may be interested in. I also picked Waterloo to gain technical knowledge for my ambition of getting into research.

What is best thing about being a Math Faculty Ambassador?

Meeting new and exciting people and spending long study sessions with your fellow mathies solving complex problems.

Is there anything you wish you knew before coming to Waterloo?

I wish I'd known how important it is to make time for non-academic activities for personal and professional development in your early years. Waterloo has a tremendous amount of opportunity to learn new skills as freshmen and apply these in real life to propel your career. Do not be afraid to ask for help when you need it!

What extra-curricular activities have you participated in?

I recently took part in Fashion for Change. It is a club that adds a modern twist to fashion runways by incorporating dance into fashion scene. I took part in the Bollywood scene and rocked the stage! You can check out some pictures and videos on the club's Facebook page.

What do you do on weekends?

Occasionally I like to visit my cousins in Toronto or I go on excursions with friends at Waterloo.

What is your favorite class so far?

Its hard to say which class is my favorite as I enjoyed most of my courses, but if I were to pick one I would pick CS 476 – which is a course on programming financial derivatives and pricing for options. It’s an extremely useful course and is relevant in finding errors in a lot of model institutions.

What are you planning to do after you graduate?

I plan to travel to Brazil to meet friends who were here on exchange in Waterloo. I’ll be staying in Sao Paulo & Rio for a duration for 3 weeks, Brazilia for approximately a week and hopefully will get enough time to see some of the Olympics games.
