Information for

NSERC Undergraduate Student Research Awards (USRAs)

Award description

The Undergraduate Student Research Awards (USRA) is part of Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) undergraduate programs. These awards are meant to stimulate the undergraduate student’s interest in research in the natural sciences, engineering and math and to encourage them to undertake graduate studies in these fields.

The NSERC USRA provides an undergraduate student with research work experience that complements their studies in an academic setting while providing them with financial support. If you are a student in the co-op program, then you may use the USRA as a co-op placement.  NSERC encourages qualified Aboriginal students to apply for this award. Please see the NSERC USRA website for more information.
