Flora

Undergraduate Student
Flora is a fourth year Mathematics/Chartered Professional Accountancy co-op student at the University of Waterloo. Through co-op, Flora has had the opportunity to figure out how different organizations and teams work to determine what will be the best fit for her in the future. Next term, Flora will be living in Velocity where she will work with industry professionals to start her own business idea.

Sachin

Undergraduate Student
Sachin is a second year Mathematics student who has grown his passion for education and teaching in his time here at the University of Waterloo. Originally from Kingston Ontario, Sachin has found a second home here at UWaterloo, where he is involved in just about every aspect of university life! Whether out on the Quidditch pitch or working hard in the classroom, Sachin is a well rounded student who is always willing to lend a hand.

Ameesha

Undergraduate Student
Ameesha is a third year Bioinformatics co-op student at the University of Waterloo. Initially starting her university career in the Faculty of Science majoring in Biology, Ameesha has found a way to bridge her love of biology and computer science through the Bioinformatics program. Through co-op, Ameesha has had the opportunity to travel internationally while gaining work experience in the field that she loves.

Jeffrey Gao

“Waterloo is always a challenge,” says Financial Analysis and Risk Management student, Jeffrey. “The academics make sure you always push yourself and continue to learn. It forces you to work at your best capabilities.” When Jeffrey is not in class or keeping up with his coursework, he likes to write.

Olivier Gilbert

“I grew up in a small farming, community-based town near Montreal” says Math student Olivier, “I did math and science for fun, so I was always the odd person out.” Olivier consistently received support and encouragement from his family for his love of math, but was always keen on seeking out ways to get involved and help others.

Patrick Hayes

Undergraduate Student
Patrick is a Math student in Computer Science and Pure Math. Patrick is originally from Guelph, but has found himself on co-op terms in Waterloo, California, and New York working for both large and small start-up technology companies. Patrick loves that he is always surrounded by smart people at Waterloo and loves the people and colleagues that he gets to interact with.

Scott McKee

“When I came from high school, I was a complete introvert,” says Computer Science student Scott. Since then, Scott has come out of his shell and become involved. During his university career, Scott has been on MathSoc for the past six years, the Federation of Students for the past three, and was a peer helper at St. Jerome’s.

Ridhima Sareen

“I’ve loved math ever since I can remember”, says Math student Ridhima as she describes why Waterloo was the best choice for her, “For me, the selling factor for Waterloo is that it has a Math faculty, and that it has co-op”.

Xinyi Zhao

Undergraduate Student
“School is important, but it’s really important to enjoy yourself”, says Xinyi as she muses on about her various academic and professional accomplishments. Xinyi is currently in her final year at the University of Waterloo, majoring in Computer Science with a minor in Management. Xinyi came to Canada from Beijing when she was 11 years old and settled in Brantford. There, she completed junior high and high school.

Haolong Zheng

Haolong is a Mathematical Finance student at the University of Waterloo. This program originated as a graduate degree, but is now also offered at the undergraduate level. When he was 18, Haolong moved to Canada from China to complete his 12th grade of high school.
