Join us as we kick off the Faculty of Mathematics 50th anniversary year with lunch and stories about the Faculty’s first decade from a panel chaired by Steve Brown.

The David R. Cheriton School of Computer Science is turning 50, and you’re invited to a special panel discussion and anniversary celebration. Please join us as past members of CS share their stories from their time at Waterloo.

The Department of Combinatorics and Optimization hosts the 2017 IPCO Conference.

The Workshop on Structure in Graphs and Matroids is the premier event in the Structural Matroid Theory community. The workshop runs every two years; previous locations are Sittard, Maastricht (twice), and Eindhoven (all in the Netherlands) and Princeton. This year we are holding it in Waterloo as part of the Tutte centennial celebrations and the celebration of C&O and of the Math Faculty at 50.

The conference will feature plenary talks by internationally recognized speakers who are graduates or have strong links to the Department. There will also be a session on the history of Statistics and Actuarial Science at Waterloo and in the rest of Canada. Stories from alumni of life at, and after Waterloo will be shared.

The annual Bridges Conference, will be hosted this year by the University of Waterloo Faculty of Mathematics.

This conference brings together an interdisciplinary group of mathematicians, scientists, artists, educators, musicians, writers, computer scientists, sculptors, dancers, weavers, model builders, weavers and many others in an atmosphere of mutual exchange and inspiration. 300 participants from six continents will gather in Waterloo.
