Part of Canada's largest engineering school, the Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering department at the University of Waterloo is home to nearly 1600 undergraduates, graduate students, faculty and staff.

    winners

    Congratulations to Devon Hartlen, Hossein Pishyar, Raphael Boulis and Bruna Do Nascimento Figueredo for their noteworthy achievement.

    The Italian Technology Awards program is a competition that invites applications from graduate students attending international universities (outside of Italy) who are conducting research on an array of topics relevant to innovations and challenges facing various manufacturing sectors in their countries or globally.

    The 2019 AIST Howe Memorial Lecture Award went to Carolyn Hansson in May, following her delivery of the Lecture at AISTech.  She was awarded the Howe Memorial Lecture “for exceptional research and technology transfer related to the integrity of infrastructure for society. Her holistic approach to investigating the corrosion of steel reinforcement in concrete has broadened the understanding of this critical aspect of construction.

    Profiles

    Rohan Agarwal and Mustafa Shahbaz were selected out of thousands around the world to attend the Forbes Under 30 Scholar Summit.  They were nominated and selected for their achievements at the University of Waterloo, and for their internship experience gained with the assistance of Waterloo's Co-op Department.
